Living Room
The formal living room rests just inside that beautiful arched exterior window. Its tall ceiling, along with the natural light flooding in from the window, helps to open the space. Beautiful, finished wood flooring adds additional warmth to the contrasting gray wall tones. And the wood mantle offers the quintessential color accent while adding a desirable amenity to this modern living room.
Kitchen
This modern galley kitchen supplies plenty of cabinet space. And functionality is further proved by clean stainless steel appliances and a window view into the dining area. A unique light fixture hangs in the center of the kitchen, and a side window adds natural light. White cabinets and light cabinet hardware help to brighten the room, and the granite countertops and stylish backsplash are the perfect tonal complements.
Den
The built-ins are the first, natural focal point in the den. Their rich wood color sits beautifully against a dark wall. The windows just above help to lighten the room, providing a substantial amount of daylight. Additionally, a large window in the center of the wall offers a lovely view of the backyard. As a quaint benefit, there is a built-in bench seated just under the window, perfect for leisure or reading in the warmth of the sunlight.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom offers a simple, calming haven for the end of the day. Rich wood flooring balances the cool color of the walls. Two windows and simple, recessed lighting lift the deep colors of the space. The room is also advantageously connected to a master bathroom, with a luxurious, fully tiled standing shower. This entire master suite is a cozy retreat within the home.
Here’s What The Current Owners Have To Say:
Q: What do you love about your current home?
A: This home is unique, bright, and welcoming. It is the type of home that when people walk down the street they stare and take photos. I always felt very proud to own this home. The backyard is an oasis. The location is incredible, being walking distance to all the amenities of East Nashville.
Q: What drew you to your current home originally?
A: The historical significance of the home was important to me. The color and style of the home is beautiful. And the location was prime and supported the lifestyle I needed at the time.
Q: Where do you love to eat?
A: Just around the corner are some of my favorite places. Margot and Marche are owned by an amazing chef and friend. Walking over to Lockeland Springs, Lockeland Table is probably my most favorite restaurant in the city.
Q: Where do you love to shop?
A: A few blocks away are a collection of local shops. I once owned an art gallery here and became friends with many of the business owners. These little shops are local, friendly, and so very close to the home.
Q: What can you tell me about your neighborhood?
A: The convenience of this location is amazing. Rarely did I deal with traffic because I was already close to most of the action. The parks nearby host all sorts of festivals, including the Hot Chicken Festival. The Tomato Art Festival is held a block away, making that weekend incredibly fun. It is an artistic community with a local vibe, but attracts people from all over the country.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to add about the schools or the area where you live?
A: Historic Edgefield is prime real estate. When I tell people my house is in Edgefield, they are impressed. This community has gone through so many changes over the past 100 years and continues to be the elder and wise neighborhood of East Nashville. Just walking through the neighborhood is an adventure.
Q: What drew you to the town?
A: Nashville has changed over the past 12 years I have been living there. The incredible success of the entertainment industry is quite obvious, but the healthcare and technology sectors have grown rapidly as well. It is a city that combines the intellect and innovation of tech and healthcare with the creative and energized world of music and video entertainment. Nashville has lower property taxes than some other popular parts of the nation, as well as no state tax. For this particular neighborhood, what I find amazing is how quiet it can be during weekdays. If you are at the home during a weekday you will notice how peaceful the backyard and street can be. And then during the weekends there is a buzz of energy that streams down the street into Five Points. I always enjoyed that variance.
